Abstract

Discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) is the most common form of chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CCLE) and is characterized clinically by single or multiple plaques that present erythema, scale, and atrophy, with residual pigmentary changes. The generalized variety of LED is rare and manifests itself with widespread lesions that affect the entire body. It has a higher risk of progression to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) than the localized form and is usually treatment resistant. We reported the case of a 36-year-old woman with generalized LED, without systemic involvement, who presented an excellent response to systemic therapy.
