Abstract

Psoriasis is a dermatosis with inflammatory implications in which immune, genetic and different trigger factors act. In guttate psoriasis, with a higher incidence in children, adolescents and young adults, an infection of the upper airway is frequently identified, mainly caused by streptococcus pyogenes. Patients have no history of psoriasis and it tends to resolve in less than a year.

It occurs with the sudden appearance, mainly on the trunk and extremities, of small, round or oval, erythematous, well-defined plaques, with well-adhered scales, associated with itching.
