Abstract

After the pandemic, the return to the face-to-face scientific activities of the SAD was for me, and I think for many of us, a balm for the soul, which allowed us to free ourselves from the cold screens and rediscover the warmth of human contact with old colleagues. and friends. However, I observed a negative fact that overshadowed my optimism: unlike the meetings before the pandemic, the half-occupied rooms were dominated by gray hair, and even bald heads, and not the young dermatologists in training who traditionally crowded these cloisters. Although the presentations maintained their excellent scientific and teaching level, I was left with the bitter taste that those who benefit most from this experience were not there. The same dermatologists in training who seem to avoid these activities, on the contrary, abound in commercial events – of dubious scientific value – organized by laboratories to advertise their products and which are reproduced endlessly on social networks.
