Lichen planus is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects skin and mucous membranes, characterized by the appearance of pruritic, flat, purplish lesions. Its manifestation in pediatric population is very rare. Hypertrophic lichen planus is distinguished by the thickening of the skin lesions. Etiology is not completely elucidated, but it has been associated with autoimmune factors, viral infections, and drug reactions. Early identification and proper management are crucial.
